Quitting Bad Habits With Self-Hypnosis: Manifest Higher!


“I want to lose weight.”
“I want to quit smoking.”

Does these sound familiar?

There are a lot of things, people, and habits that are difficult to lose or quit.

A friend of mine who has been smoking since high school decided to quit cold turkey when the global pandemic hit—that was in March. She didn’t feel the urge to smoke since then, which was impressive.

Months passed, and every time we would catch up, I would ask her if she was still smoking, and she will always tell me that she hasn’t picked up a cigarette since the virus outbreak.

I was so happy for her.

Until when restrictions have eased a bit and she managed to go outside her house and meet up with some of her friends, the next day, during our “weekly” catch up, she told me she smoked.

She said it was a one-time thing. Until she did it again, and now she’s back to square one, and she was utterly devastated.

I know that smoking is addictive. I have spoken to many people who have this addiction and I can say that it’s challenging to quit.

There are many ways to quit, yet interventions are the most effective.

So, what I suggested is hypnosis to my friend.

Hypnosis can help a person get into the right mindset. And what’s best about it is that works like meditation.

Here’s a simple self-hypnosis you can do by yourself:

  1. Sit or lie down and close your eyes.
  2. Take three slow, deep breaths.
  3. Hold the third breath in for three seconds.
  4. As you breathe out, relax, and sink back into your seat.
  5. Focus on your breathing.
  6. Allow your thoughts to drift in and out until you have cleared your mind.
  7. Count backwards from 10 to zero—counting each number as you breathe out and focus on various areas of the body, and allow yourself to relax slowly. You can start with your toes and work up your way to your head, or vice versa.
  8. Imagine yourself in a tranquil space, and picture as much detail as possible.
  9. At this state of concentration and relaxation, give yourself a suggestion to feel more confident to quit a habit. You can also visualize your reason for quitting to make you feel more motivated to achieve your goal. Use this time wisely.
  10. Wake yourself up by counting back up from zero to 10.

Similar to meditation, this simple self-hypnosis technique will take some time and practice before you can do it at a more comfortable pace. And that’s okay! Take all the time you need—what matters here is you stay consistent and determined to do it to reach your goals.

When you get to that state, and you are able to suggest things to yourself, you will attract the things that you want to manifest in your life.

Hypnosis taps into your subconscious mind that will make your quitting even more powerful.

Next thing you know, you are no longer picking up a cigarette even if you’re put in tempting situations.
